Wednesday’s Weekly Weigh In #2
It’s time for the Wednesday Weekly Weigh In. Thank you to Carole, Jon, and Kristine for joining in last week.
My weigh in for this week – January 21, 2009
My scale says 203 – same as last week.
My goal is 140.
My first step (a mini goal) is 190.
Things I have done this week:
- I met my goal of drinking only one Sunkist each day. On two of the days, I was really craving a second one but I resisted. Otherwise it didn’t bother me.
- I drank more water than usual. I filled a glass at the start of each morning and drank it before having any breakfast. I tried to be less lazy and go get a new glass of water each time I felt thirsty. Ordinarily I ignore my thirst too often, which I know is not good.
- I did pretty good with my plan to eat less at dinner each day. We did order pizza one night and I kept eating after I was full. It was the first time we’d ordered pizza in about a month, and I was trying to stock up while I had the chance. I know, I know, that’s the kind of attitude that got me where I am.
- I didn’t have much opportunity to park way out in a parking lot this week. It was extremely cold over the weekend so we parked close. But one evening we stopped at a store and then wanted to go to Kroger. I walked to Kroger instead of re-parking the van with the rest of the family. I’m not sure of the distance, but I consider it a nice walk.
Steps I plan to take in the upcoming week:
- I plan to continue doing what I did last week. At this point, I don’t have any new ideas that I’m ready to try.
If you have a blog, you can make a post sharing whatever information you’d like about your weight loss journey.
If you don’t have a blog, you can participate by leaving a comment on this post.
You do not have to share your weight, of course. Share your goal weight if you’d like and what you’re planning to do to reach it. As the weeks go by, share what you’re doing – and what’s working or not working.
Feel free to make your post or leave your comment any day of the week.
In your post, remember to link back to Fenced in Family’s Wednesday Weigh In so others can find out how to join in too.
Together, we can do it!

Drinking more water is good. I can relate to eating too much pizza–it’s so good and so easy to gobble up those slices. I have limited myself to only two slices per meal. That way it lasts longer and I have it Sunday, Monday and Tuesday! Yea!! Once suggestion I have that maybe you already do is not to eat after 7 p.m.
Hi! Well, good for you for looking at the positive and realizing every healthy choice is a step in the right direction. The scale is not the only measure of success. In Weight Watchers, which is what I’m doing, they tell you to cut your one slice of pizza in half, so you psychologically get the fulfillment of going back for more, but you still only eat one piece. They also say to eat slowly because it takes at least 15 minutes for your brain to register that you’ve eaten a meal and might be satisfied. I also like Walk Away the Pounds…you can probably get it pretty cheap on EBay or somewhere since it’s been out awhile, but it’s an easy 20 minute low impact aerobic workout that’s easy to fit into the day, and it does feel like a workout. Also, I have been weighing and measuring my portions. I have a little scale I use, and I bought these serving spoons at Weight Watchers that are actually measuring spoons…very handy, and nobody would ever know they weren’t just serving spoons.
This week I lost 6 pounds, and am down 31 all together.
Wow. Good for you for going at it so well. I can’t seem to budge my weight even though I’m trying to eat better and exercise more. I think I’d better set some goals like you! Good luck with it!
