I love it when living science happens right in our yard. A few weeks ago, the boys found a robin’s nest with two blue eggs in a bush beside our front deck. The eggs have hatched, and now we have babies. [...] This week’s PhotoHunt theme is “cuddly” … oh, so many things come to mind. Stuffed animals – I’ve had hundreds over the years and can call most of them by name – babies, lambs, kittens, the fuzzy blankets we bought at Big Lots. All cuddly and all wonderful! I told James (since Nick already knew) how it’s pitch black and very cold in the deepest parts of the ocean and that the creatures there are strange looking, very different from animals we see in the shallower ocean or [...] I had a somewhat unique opportunity yesterday – I got to lead a breastfeeding class at the WIC office. For those who don’t know WIC is Women, Infants, and Children, a government-sponsored program that provides vouchers for nutritious food to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers and children up to age five.
